iPhone bottom speakers create muffled sound when iPod app is played?

iPhone Speakers

This is the iPhone 3G model, the bottom speakers occasionally will muffled when the keyboard is used, music is played and alarm clock sound strikes. It doesn’t effect the iPhone calling capabilities. Can anyone help?
It has not been near water.

    Its most likely water-damaged. That happened to my iPhone. Apple doesn’t fix it either =[
